Winn Alexander (born Winn Alexander Shultz, June 24, 1989) is an American singer/songwriter, recording artist and musician. His style is eclectic and distinctive blending folk, 60's pop, psychedelic rock, rockabilly, blues and classic country. Know for his unique guitar playing, harmonica and exceptional vocals. He has perfomed music all around the Pacific Northwest extensively. An entertainer always delivering a memorable show. Winn studied piano, music theory, applied strings, voice and recording engineering at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. Singing And The Brain, Opera and Perfromance Vocal classes at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, Band and Chamber/Performance Choir at Newberg, Oregon Highschool and Jazz Band at Nampa, Idaho Highschool. He has performed at notable venues and music festivals in various cities such as Dantes Inferno in downtown Portland, Oregon, The Sea Monster Lounge (Seattle, Washington) Sam Bonds Garage (Eugene, Oregon) The Great Circle Music Festival (La Grande, Oregon) The Rain dance Music Festival (Portland, Oregon), The Great Pacific (Pendleton, Oregon) and many more.
Winn was born in Oregon City, Oregon to parents Marc Shultz and Valerie Garrett. Both his parents were professional working musicians, often playing gigs out on the weekends at various clubs. His father Marc Shultz was born and raised in Pendleton, Oregon. Marc was an excepetional singer and live entertainer. His first band was called the “Living Souls” and later he would form a group called “Silverhill” with his best friend and band mate, David Rada. Winn's mother Valerire was a proficent electric bass guitarist and singer. Marc and Valerie met in Los Angeles, California. When Valerie learned she was pregnant, they left L.A. and decided it was time to return to Oregon. Early on Winn's parents would bring him to their live gigs and stuff cotton balls in his jacket hood to protect his hearing as a baby. As a toddler, Winn would pull out kitchen pots and wood spoons, playing along to the music at basement band rehearsals. Marc then bought him a children's drumset and encouranged him to play.
